Subject: Tuesday, September 17th Declared as OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP Mansfield, Ohio – Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker, is pleased to announce the City of Mansfield and Downtown Mansfield, Inc. have declared Tuesday, September 17, 2013 as Operation Sweep.

 

Volunteers, local business people, and organizations are being asked to don their work clothes and meet at the Gazebo in Central Park at 5:00 pm to Plant Pride, Not Litter. Volunteers are asked to bring their own brooms, work gloves, and shovels if they have them. Collection bags, disposable gloves, and disposal of litter collected will be provided by the City of Mansfield.

 

“It is very important we continue to demonstrate our pride and dedication to our city and the revitalization of the downtown and nearby neighborhoods that will, in turn affect our entire community,” Theaker said.

 

Refreshments of cider and donuts and a small token of appreciation will be provided to volunteers for their participation.

 

A rain date of Thursday, September 19, 2013 has been scheduled in case of inclement weather. Volunteers will still meet in Central Park at 5:00 pm.
