Tim BowersockTim joined the City of Mansfield as its Economic Development Director in June of 1998.  Tim has had extensive experience in business development and management. Prior to joining the City of Mansfield, he held the position of Director of the Mansfield-Richland Incubator, where he not only counseled business start-ups, but also provided in-depth management analysis and assistance. 

As the Economic Development Director for the City of Mansfield, Tim manages and administers the City’s Economic Incentive Programs, is directly responsible for industrial retention, expansion and relocation efforts; establishment of economic development programs and marketing plans; coordinates public/private partnerships regarding infrastructures; building and land development; acquisition, sale and lease of land on the City’s behalf for business expansion; acts as liaison between City, County and State development  personnel, private financial institutions and local/regional organizations.

Recently the City of Mansfield, which is part of Richland County, was recognized as one of "America’s Most Logistics-Friendly Cities". That is not surprising knowing that our location provides companies with the most optimal timing in terms of proximity to marketplace.

Mansfield Lahm Airport, four I-71 interchanges, eight major highways and two rail carriers all play a part in Mansfield’s unique transportation infrastructure. In addition, Mansfield/Richland County is within 500 miles of 42 major cities – creating a logistical stronghold within the United States.

  • Conway Express (CCX) – Completed construction of a new 36-dock truck terminal at their new Cairns Road location.  The project will create 10 new jobs.  Project investment $2,000,000.00

  • The Kroger Company – Completed the 50,000 sq. ft. expansion of their Lexington Avenue store.  The project will create 50 new part time jobs.  Project investment $6,000,000.00

  • Applebees – Completed construction of a new restaurant on Stander Avenue near I-71 and St. Rt. 13.  Project investment $1,200,000.00

  • Hampton Inn – Broke ground on a new 72-room hotel on South Main Street near I-71 and St. Rt. 13.  Project will be completed during the first quarter of 2007.  Project investment $3,400,000.00

  • Mansfield Motorsports Park – Broke ground on an expansion project that will include a new state of the art Drag Strip.  Project investment $5,500,000.00

  • Sterkle Boulevard Project – Broke ground for the new Sutton Bank branch.  The overall project will include retail shops and medical office buildings in addition to the new bank branch.  Project investment $400,000.00
